Individual Therapy

Life can be messy. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, stuck, or just not like yourself. Maybe you're carrying past hurts that still affect you, or you're struggling in your relationships. Whatever it is, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Therapy gives you a space to talk openly, sort through your thoughts, and find real ways to feel better. It’s not about quick fixes or someone telling you what to do—it’s about working together to help you understand yourself, heal, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

What Is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is just you and a therapist talking through what’s on your mind. It’s a private, judgment-free space where you can be completely honest—maybe for the first time in a while.

Some people come in knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others just feel overwhelmed and need a place to start sorting things out. Either way, therapy is about getting the support you need in a way that works for you. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out.

Why People Come to Therapy

There’s no one-size-fits-all reason for starting therapy, but here are some common struggles that bring people in:

Anxiety & Stress

If your mind feels like it never shuts off, or you’re constantly overwhelmed, therapy can help you find ways to slow down and manage stress in a healthier way.

Depression & Low Mood

Feeling stuck, disconnected, or like you're just going through the motions? Therapy can help you work through those feelings and reconnect with yourself.

Relationship Struggles

Whether it’s conflict with a partner, family issues, or trouble setting boundaries, therapy can help you build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Trauma & Past Wounds

Old pain doesn’t just disappear, and sometimes it shows up in ways we don’t expect. Therapy can help you process past experiences and start healing.

Self-Esteem & Identity

If you struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, or feeling like you’re not enough, therapy can help you build confidence and get to know yourself on a deeper level.

Major Life Changes

Big transitions—like a career shift, becoming a parent, or losing a loved one—can shake your sense of stability. Therapy gives you a place to process those changes and adjust in a healthy way.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about learning, growing, and making real changes in your life. Here’s what it can help you do:

  • Get Clarity: Sometimes, things feel off, but you’re not sure why. Therapy helps you untangle your thoughts and understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.
  • Develop Coping Skills: Whether it’s stress, anxiety, or tough emotions, therapy can give you tools to handle life’s challenges in a way that feels healthier and more balanced.
  • Improve Relationships: Learning how to communicate, set boundaries, and recognize patterns can change the way you connect with others.
  • Break Unhealthy Patterns: We all have habits and ways of thinking that hold us back. Therapy helps you notice them, understand where they come from, and create new patterns that actually serve you.

Our Approach

We believe therapy should feel like a conversation—not a lecture or an interrogation. Our therapists create a warm, supportive space where you can be yourself.

We use evidence-based techniques like:

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) – EFIT is a structured approach to counseling which can be broken down into three stages:
    • Assessment & de-escalation
    • Restructuring interactions
    • Consolidation & integration
  • EMDR – Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a method that involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – IFS posits that the mind is made up of multiple parts, and underlying them is a person's core or true Self.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – DBT treatment involves teaching people skills to learn acceptance and to help them make changes.
  • Attachment-Based Therapy – Explores how early attachment styles impact your relationship and helps you build a secure connection.

But more than anything, our approach is personal. We take the time to understand what works best for you and tailor therapy to fit your needs.
